Some BPUB Customers to Experience Water Service Interruption

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 7 p.m. until approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, as crews replace water valves. The service interruption will affect approximately 200 customers.

Crews will be replacing two 90-degree bends and an 8-inch water valve at Portway Street and Padre Island Highway. The area impacted by the temporary water service disruption includes the following: Portway Street, Padre Island Highway, East 11th Street, East 12th Street, Cheers Street, Calle Fresnal, Calle Roble, Timber Drive, Peninsula Lane and McKenzie Road.

This work is part of BPUB’s ongoing water valve replacement project to maintain the city’s water infrastructure.
