School and Child Care Sampling
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has launched a program to test water in schools and childcare facilities to ensure safety from lead exposure. This comprehensive initiative involves sampling water at various consumption points within each facility. If elevated lead levels are detected, TCEQ will provide filters at no cost to the facility.
While anyone can nominate a school or childcare center for testing, the facility's owners or staff must approve the testing.
