BROWNSVILLE, TX – The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) Health and Safety Department, in collaboration with the Brownsville Police Department (BPD), conducted atable-top exercise and drill from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Annex Building on 1425 Robinhood Drive.

“The purpose of the drill is to continue improving BPUB’s emergency operations,” BPUB’s Health and Safety Manager Eduardo Martinez said.

As part of this exercise, BPD police units were parked at BPUB and several police officers participated. Nearby residents might have heard loud noises as part of the drill, and BPUB wants to assure customers that they worked with BPD to conduct this drill safely.

BPUB employees inside the Annex Building were required to exit the building at 5 p.m. and were not present during the exercise.
