BPUB Activates Emergency Operations Center

BROWNSVILLE, TX – With the threat of Tropical Storm Hanna, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) has activated its emergency operations center.

BPUB is prepared and ready to handle impending storm-related issues expected due to Tropical Storm Hanna. Should there be power, water or wastewater service interruptions due to downed power lines or natural causes, BPUB employees are trained and ready to restore electricity, water and wastewater services to Brownsville. Crews will be dispatched once conditions are deemed safe.

Regular business will close starting Friday, July 24 at 5 p.m. and will resume after the dangers of Tropical Storm Hanna pass.

BPUB staff and crews will remain on duty throughout the storm and will work to restore utility services as soon as the danger passes. Customers can call 956-983-6100 for service outages and emergencies.
