7 BPUB Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

 

WHAT: Seven additional BPUB employee tested positive for COVID-19.
WHEN: Positive tests confirmed Dec. 4- Dec. 10
LAST DATES AT BPUB FACILITY: Between Aug. 24 and Dec. 5

 

Several actions have already been taken as a precautionary measure, including:

  • Disinfecting and sanitizing of the employees’ work areas
  • Disinfecting and sanitizing of common areas
  • Working with city and county health officials

BPUB will continue to follow CDC guidelines for workplace safety, require employees to use facial coverings, promote good hygiene practices and share health, safety and travel guidelines with all employees.

 

BPUB wants to reassure customers that there is still staff on hand for ongoing electric, water and wastewater operations and customer service inquiries. Many departments are working from remote locations until the pandemic eases. BPUB offices have been closed to visitors and customers since March 17.

 

BPUB is encouraging the community to practice social distancing by making account inquiries or paying bills online or by phone to help flatten the curve of COVID-19.
