About the Project
BPUB be started construction of the Southmost Elevated Storage Tank. The tank, located at Southmost and E. 30th street intersection, will add 2 million storage capacity and help BPUB maintain TCEQ. Once complete, the tank will improve water pressure and potable water flow for the surrounding areas. That new elevated storage tank will replace two older water tanks: the elevated storage tank demolished in 2018, formerly located on Southmost Boulevard and the elevated storage tank at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) campus. UTRGV’s elevated storage tank is scheduled to be demolished once the new elevated storage tank is fully operational.
