The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces the continuation of construction and a temporary road closure of Phase I on 30th Street from Lazy Acres to Jennifer Avenue starting Saturday, March 15 through Friday, March 31, 2023, to install a 16-inch waterline that will connect the newly constructed 2 million-gallon elevated storage tank on Southmost to the main distribution line on Southmost Boulevard.
The following streets will be closed during each phase of the 30th Street Waterline Upgrade Project (see map below):
- Phase I – Jennifer Ave. to Lazy Acres Road
- Phase II – Stanolind Ave. to Jennifer Avenue
- Phase III – Southmost Blvd to Stanolind Avenue
All construction dates and times are approximate, and the end date and time may vary due to the nature of weather, soil conditions and job provisions. BPUB will continue to provide updates with changes and/or revisions to the contractor’s traffic control plan and construction dates for the above three phases of construction.
