BPUB Announces Temporary Road Closure

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces a temporary road closure as part of the utility’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure maintenance.

The road closure will affect Old Highway 77, from Charlie Clark Drive to Gilson Road, and a portion of Gilson Road, from Old Highway 77 to Weslaco Road, on Thursday, June 5, starting at 7 p.m. This closure is necessary as a BPUB crew will be repairing a water main line break at the intersection of Gilson Road and Old Highway 77. The closure is expected to end at approximately 12 a.m.

BPUB crews will repair a water main line break at the intersection of Gilson Road and Old Highway 77.

Motorists are asked to be vigilant for road signs in these areas. All construction dates and times are approximate, and the end date and time may vary due to the nature of weather, soil conditions and job provisions.

BPUB, Texas Department of Transportation and City of Brownsville departments have coordinated on this effort to make it a safe and efficient operation. BPUB apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
