BPUB’s Final Winter Storm Electric Services Restoration Report
BROWNSVILLE, TX – After working around the clock since the extreme cold weather event that caused statewide power outages, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) restored the last remaining customers who lost power as a result of the winter storm.
After the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) suspended rotating outages, BPUB restored power to 4,000 customers who were affected by equipment-related failures. As of 10 a.m. today, all remaining customers are restored. After the completion of the restoration, BPUB called the last remaining customers to confirm that their services had been restored.
BPUB’s water system operated normally during the cold weather emergency, and the utility never stopped providing safe drinking water to the community.
