Fight the "FOG" with Hector the Inspector

Brownsville Public Utilities Board's newest public ambassador, Hector the Inspector helps to educate the public about things they can do around the home to conserve precious resources like water.

Hector's a real hero who will educate the public on proper fat, oil and grease (FOG) disposal. With a higher incidence of BPUB Pretreatment Department reports of clogs and pollutants from Fats Oils and Greases, BPUB is trying to defend the natural resources of the City of Brownsville; its waters.

Join Hector in his search around the house and community and reveals the best practices on saving water and keeping it clean. Hector helps to spread the message about protecting the environment and decreasing maintenance and utility costs for homeowners too.

Hector the Inspector wears a BPUB uniform, including blue work shirt, blue denim pants and a logoed baseball cap similar to BPUB meter readers and water and wastewater personnel. Hector joins the original Brownsville PUB outreach ambassador, Leo the Lineman, who helps educate children and people throughout the city about electrical safety and energy conservation.
